If you do, with the electronic seatbelt crap dissconnected, does your car run? I gutted my escort completely and unplugged wires to do with the seatbelts, tailights and headlights. I need the car running asap so I can get on with the roll cage..thanks for any help!
And it turns over fine, sputters sometimes but never 'runs' and it ran great before I did all this. Oh and i checked the gas lol
Nope. Is there a way to reset the fuel system in a sense? Cause towards the back of the car I did notice under the panels I ripped up, some emergency gas shutoff
Should have a red button on it, push it in. Do you have the owners manual? Even shaking them around, can trip them.
Some of the cars with passive restraints have the fuel pump wired through the same module that controls the belts. What year is it?
I tried to download the page for the diagram but it wouldn't let me. You might have disconnected the inertia switch like the others have mentioned. It ties into the passive restraints and the fuel pump but isn't directly wired through. The PCM energizes the relay and supplies current to the pump. Another possibility is that you may have disconnected one of the grounds for the fuel pump and or relay
another question.. How can I tell if theres gas getting to the motor? I guess other then the sound of the pump itself. because I can pump the pedal several times and theres no smell of gas
Is it fuel injected? pumping the pedal does nothing. When you turn the key, do you hear the fuel pump?
