Does anyone else think the Lincoln Mark VII looks like a deluxe, newer Maverick? Not from the front, but the roof line, long hood, short trunk. Kind of a big pony car?

Since I've grown to appreciate the Maverick I thought I might want to own a Mark VII as a kind of luxury big brother. That was, until I drove one. Got so far as to go look at and drive one that was for sale. It felt like an over-weight behemoth compared to the little hot rod Maverick. Decided I didn't want one. But, I still wonder if some suspension changes could make it into a more comfortable, Interstate cousin to the street and strip Maverick.

Yes, the DOHC Mods have appeal but to me the Mark VIIIs begin to have the upside-down bath tub look. Not similar to the Mavericks. I like the Mark VII style which I think is similar to the Mavericks except from the front. Just wondered if anyone shares the opinion.
