Not for my Maverick, I ordered them for my Mustang but that may change down the line. I saw where Cragar now offered a one piece aluminum S/S and I had to have a set. I looked them up on the Cragar site, then went to Jegs and spotted the same wheel. But as I have found out, the picture is wrong on the Jegs site and I ordered the wrong wheel...should've read closer. This is what I got....a 15"x7" chrome steel rim with gray aluminum center. Kind of disappointed but I guess I'll just keep them since I'd have to pay return shipping charges. Going to run 215/60/15s front and 235/60/15 rear
Don't feel bad.....there is a guy over on the HAMB that did the same thing. He's trying to get jegs to take them back since it's their mistake....
I think I would have to return them. If they are truly not what YOU want, you may always regret you didn't get what YOU wanted. I would have to return them, because every time I would look at them, it would just remind me of what I settled for.
Yeah wonder who that guy could be? Anyway I chose to keep these for a couple reasons. First the rim on these are not as thick looking as the aluminum ones. Second these are made in the USA...the others are made in China. And third....see two. Mounted a 235/60/15 at work today to see what it looked like.
I have the all steel chrome SSs and love them except I don't like the unilugs. They're a pain in the butt to put on and a couple lugs came loose. NEVER had lugs come loose on me before but then I've never had unilugs before.:16suspect
I like those wheels, with the chrome rim. Something different, and they have that classic look, I kinda like them more than full chrome ones I have. I bought mine new in 1992, and they are uni-lug...always been a pain.
My Maverick has more room for tires than my Mustang....I think I could easily fit 255s under the Maverick with the right offset. These might be tight under the Mustang but they look pretty cool. I just got cheap tires but this one only took 1/2 oz of weight, amazing!
Hmmm, my SS/Ts are unilug and I've never had a nut come loose in the 20 years I've had em on. Are you torqueing to 80 lb ft?
Maybe its just a coincidence. I'll have to check and see what they're torqued to. I'll have to admit I don't use a torque wrench on lugs. Never had one come loose before and never stripped one. Could be its more critical with unilugs??? Seems like the washers might move around and loosen the lug. It would be real easy to have some washers not seated correctly but I saw that and double checked them all. Sorry, didn't mean to take the thread off subject.
I didn't realize it was you! Just figured there were two different guys with the same problem! You must use another name over there like I do....I'm bamamav over there.......
I have to admit, I do like the one piece aluminum wheel better. Just my 2 cents, currently trading at 1 cent.
