After seeing tires mounted on those next to the car, I might just have to change my mind and go with the gray centers for mine.

I ran into a problem with my tires. I was wanting to run 235/60/15s on the rear of the Mustang and 215/60/15s front. The problem is that the tire world has really changed. Only a few companys make these 2 sizes in the same series of tire. BF Goodrich does but I don't like their tires so I tried to find a 215 that looked like my 235s as far as sidewall design and thread. No luck...most 215s look like they should be on an import tuner. Then I found what I wanted in of all places...Walmart. I got Goodyear Viva 2s...215/60/15 in stock.

I ran into that myself. I do like the BFG's however, so it was just a matter of finding somebody that actually had them in stock when I was ready to buy. I ended up getting mine from Discount Tire on eBay, 255/60/15 rear and 215/60/15 fronts.
I've never had any luck with any Goodyear tire. They've always blown out before they wore out, or wore crazy to one side or just some crazy pattern. And that's every size from a 14" up the 22.5's on a semi. Wife's Jeep Grand Cherokee had a new set of Trackers on it when we bought it.......six months later, they were cupping and wearing funny. I put a set of Hankook's on it, now, six months later, they still look new. Just my experience, your might be different.....

Yeah you never know. I have a set of Goodyears on my F150 that's been on there for 60,000 miles and they still have tread left.

    On my old 68 I couldn't get a 235 to clear (wheel openings were't rolled...stock moldings). Went with a 57 Ford 9" and got 255s to clear.

Thanks I really had fun with that car....it was a beast.

The good thing about Cragars is the backspacing...except the fronts usually require a spacer to clear the upper balljoint. A 15"X7" Cragar has 4 1/8" backspacing which lets you get a pretty heafty tire under a Maverick.

    I got 255/60/15 on a 8" rim with 4 1/4 bs.I know guys are putting 275's on with a 15x8 4'' bs rim.These cars can sure take quite a bit of tire.

I got the front tires mounted. I can't try them out till the weather gets better but if I don't like them on the Mustang, they'll be going on the Maverick.

The centers are aluminum. The rims are chrome steel and made in the USA. I opted to keep these over the more expensive all aluminum chinese version. :bananaman
