I figured I would post up the latest truck I bought for some reason. A guy that works for the yard bought it from the yard and drove it for a couple months. A couple days ago it wouldn;t run and they aren't mechanically inclined so they traded it to the yard for a cadillac that ran. I ended up buying it because I thought it was to good to crush. All thats wrong with it is no spark and I thoink the points slipped so it will probaly be running tomorrow. It was a later model 302 and a c4 trans. I figure I will get it running and fix the brakes and then probaly try and sell it for 1k or so if I don't end up keeping it

not a bump but a 78 f-100 that was in line for the same fait that I got a month of so ago. Figure I will but the 69 460 I have in it one day if it don't rot to the ground sitting there. Currently has a 300 and a 3spd that runs

I always thought there would be good money in gathering up trucks like this down south and selling them up north. I am curios as to what you think they would sell for in your neck of the woods

I could get 3000 each for those easy up here.
A good southern box for a 78-79 style like yours would run about 1300 bucks up here. That may be conservative if the box needs minimal body work.
A 78-79 up here is not a cheap truck anymore. To buy one running and road worthy your 5 grand plus now. I used to buy them as parts trucks for 50 bucks. Likely worth more than a Maverick up here in comparable shape.

I have been thinking one of these with a DOHC 4.6 and a blower would be pretty cool!

Unbelievable... they're still crushing the hell out of them down here and it's not hugely uncommon to see bump and dent sides still driving around.

theyre still common to see drivin around here and actually theres still a few decent ones that show up at the cruise ins. my buddy has a nice 68 short box that just lacks paint and ive been trying to get it off of him as long as hes had it, but he wont come off it. in the shape yours are in around my parts they would probably go around $2000 to $2500
