I got another Mighty Mav. to add to all of my Maverick Hot Wheels. Better than the others and the price was right.

I just bought a couple of wings for some of the ones I have. Theres a guy selling them on eBay for $3.00-$4.00. I bought 2 and he threw in a extra one. Comes in white or black.

All the way from Malaysia and it's a Treasure Hunt too. Of course I think they all come from Malaysia but this one was shipped straight to me from the seller. I had to pay $10 for the car and another $10 for shipping but I'm thinking the Treasure Hunt ones may be pretty hard to find once this color does hit the shelves. I did get this thru eBay on a second chance offer.
Something really seems strange about the entire deal but I got it nevertheless. I'm wondering if this may have come from somebody that works in the plant or something since it came unpackaged. Other than a few very small nicks on it it's in almost mint condition.

That's the one that was on Ebay? It's the only one I've seen...I wonder if it's from someone that works at the factory? There have been some changes to the way Treasure Hunts are carded this year, it'll make them hard to find....

Its not the same car but is the same seller. I've compared the car closely with the picture posted above in this thread. I'm guessing he had more than one and offered to the other bidders. I actually paid $10.05 and he dropped the shipping to $10 without me even saying anything about it. And yes, I'm thinking he works at the plant. Possibly stuffing his pockets? Oh well...let em come find me! :)

    Ray,

I was just doing some research on KMart Collectors Day (coming up ... Feb 11, 2012) and started looking at what will also be available as Treasure Hunts.

HWs changed how they are presenting Treasure Hunts vs Super Treasure Hunts this year. THs will still have the green stripe on the side of the packaging (15 cars total).

Supers will be sneakier .... Spectraflame paint and Real Rider tires and mixed in with the regular collector series cars in a quieter fashion. No real label on the card either .... just subtle clues like different wheels shown.

I am pretty sure that you have a Super TH there.

I can only find listings for 5 of the TH castings and Mavs aren't one of them yet. Don't think they will, either. A Mav is listed in the racing series, which would be similar to what you have there, but what gives it away is the "TH" in the graphic. It looks like Real Rider tires, too.

I think congrats are in order. :thumbs2:

Thanks Jeff! He did have it listed as a Super Treasure Hunt. I've never been a treasure hunt collector since I only have Mavericks and Mustangs in my collection. Never took the t/h stuff serious although I know some guys do. I honestly thought he might have been scamming me but I figured $20 wasn't gonna break me so I took the chance. Glad I did.
Thanks for the info on it.
