    I bought 2 of the "regular" HW Racing Mavs for 1.69 each. Whats different aside from the white roof and real rider tires? I noticed a TH on the fender where the maverick emblem usually is. sspx2005_original.jpg

    I would bet that you will not find the Hot Wheels Racing Team Maverick in US retail stores for at least another three months. They release new models spread out throughout the year.

    Of that issue, only a small amount will be Super Treasure Hunts, and you will really have to look to find them. The paint scheme will be similar, except for the "TH" in the graphics. The wheels and tires will also be different, and that will be the big clue if sorting through them ... soft tires instead of hard plastic.

    I went ahead and picked up 3 of them from eBay plus I have the Super Treasure Hunt one. Now I can sit back and relax and wait on them to start showing up. About 10 more and I'll be happy. :)

    What's the deal on the Super Treasure Hunt version? Is it just a chance that one might be found on the racks with the regular ones or is there more to it than that?

    Pure luck to find these. They are just randomly inserted into a case now and then. They are going to be very rare to find. Most will be the regular car with the Maverick emblem on the fender. A very small percentage will be the Super Secret ones with the TH on the fender and real rubber tires instead of the hard plastic tires. Since the cards are not marked as a Treasure Hunt I think our chances of finding one will be much better than in the past when the cards were clearly marked as Treasure Hunts in bright green.

    Some of the ebay sellers are from the east coast including NJ ...

    The one I bought came from MAlaysia. I got him trying to get me more of the treasure hunts. He said he was going to try. Maybe I'll get lucky. :)

    You almost need to work at a retail store and pick through a case when its opened. Because if you dont then I bet some other guy that works there is going to pick through it before its rolled out to the floor. the only treasure hunts I ever saw was when we would get a big case in at Autozone during christmas and I opened it up and looked before it was out on display.
