Here are some pics of them blasting glass media. They used soda to blast the fiberglass spoiler. I want to thank Frank for coming to my rescue after I made a phone call to him for help.
Jeff, glad you called, thanks for lunch at Baby Janes... they were blasting the parts as fast as we could pull them... ...Frank...:Handshake
I've had 3 Georgia cars and all 3 had rust in that very same spot. The only one that didn't is my California car I have now, but a distracted dude in a Dodge van took care of the RH quarter and door instead.
It is almost happening too fast to keep up with. I knew about the rust on the driver's side quarter but the damage on the right side quarter kinda took me by suprise. There's one thing for sure...after blasting there's nothing left to the imagation. Makes you wonder how many times someone got their bubble busted after getting their pride and joy blasted.
I think I will be out of town when he puts it back together...don't know what day that will be but I'll be out of town...
too funny Frank. Spit my coffee on the screen. Looks like fun, putting the car around with no doors and fenders.
I pretend like I was the mailman while I was driving across the parking lot. A couple of funny things did happen while stripping parts in the parking lot. You know the "Had to stop what I was doing to listen to a Maverick story" story. We had a guy walk up and said that he “ain’t seen a Maverick in many years”. It’s funny how people don't know what a Maverick is when it’s all put together and here is a guy looking at a stripped down Maverick with no hood, doors, bumpers or fenders and he knew exactly that he was looking at the whole time. Another funny thing was we had to stop doing what we were doing, not one time...but two times, to answer questions to different groups of people about a stock looking 6 cyl motor. Does it run fast? Did you just rebuild it? It seems everybody who walked by was awed seeing a 6 cyl.
I think we should have a caption contest with that picture of you sitting in the car with doors and fenders.
I suppose so! U don't hardly see them in many cars of these days. To see one is rare - and u have very nice one. This is the first time I 've heard of anyone stripping a car in the parkin lot --- Legally. Most folks disassemble and trailer stuff to the stripper/painter. That indicates - u have to know what ur doing. U going to re-assemble in the parkin lot?
