what is the word on these things? I have a 302 and want to run one because of lack of space. are they dependable? is one kind better than another? anyone ever use one? thank you for your time.
it is on a 53 customline. the cross member is u shaped and the engine sits low. the oil filter runs into the cross member.
I had a remote setup on a V8 Ranger that I drove for many years. I had one odd problem right off the bat, unrelated to the actual remote housing. I didn't want to use the barbed hose clamp hoses that came with the kit, so I had some hydraulic hoses made up. I had them made of super heavy duty industrial grade material. I ended up with a "moose call" type noise on deceleration, that I eventually found to be a result of a harmonic vibration transmitted through the steel wire in the hoses. I had a second set made of a lower grade, more flexible material and the noise went away.
Now that is very interesting!:16suspect Isn't it fun when an "upgrade" causes some wierd problem you've never considered possible.
It was awesome when I finally found the problem...................after weeks of tearing my hair out!
A 90* will kill the oil pressure when the oil dead heads into the 90*. Two 45's* will work better. A friend had his oil pressure go from 65 psi to 15 psi usings 90's. If it was air pressure instead of liquid pressure then a 90* will work
I was refering to the explorer/ford motorsport 90* filter adapter i put one on a fox mustang with no oil pressure change fwiw
