Thanks Dave. It's a one-man shop and he had a lot of door dings to work out It's half your fault... Rest of the car is inside the paint booth. I guess he had to move parts out of the way to get the car in there.
I got a phone call from the bodyshop this morning. He never called so I’m expecting bad news. He said the hood came in and he had to sign for it. He said he opened the box and he wanted to tell me how it looked. This is when my knees got weak and my heart sinks to the pit of my stomach. He’s next words were “You ain’t gonna paint this hood are you?” The next 5 minutes I sitting there on the phone listen to him tell me how sweet and nice this hood is. I jump in the truck and head to the shop to see the carbon fiber hood. All I can say is you need to see one of Maverick Man’s Hood in person to see the beauty…pictures don’t do it justice at all. After he told me the same thing in person that he told me on the phone…he said the car is painted and told me to go look in the paint booth. Here’s a few more pics I took today.
Man that looks terrific, something to be proud of You gotta love the carbonfiber stuff MaverickMan makes it adds more blink to a car than you would ever believe.
Love the color! Are you going with grabber stripes? If so leaving the hood stenciled out in the grabber decal would look awesome
I would be very tempted to paint it Grabber Blue, but leave the "Grabber Stripes" in carbon fiber. Very happy for you.
My painter told me "If I wanted it painted...go find someone else to paint the hood 'cause he is not going to do it." The thought did cross my mind to paint the perimeter of the hood body color with the CF showing through looking like pinstripping...kinda like the 69 Mach I hood.
That's a great idea! I spoke with MaverickMan about the hood a few years ago and talked about painting it and he said "Why would you want to paint it?" I didn't have a good response...
Man I forgot about that style, it looks better than the grabber one! I'm pretty sure I have a pic of a maverick like that,it's on my other computer but let me see if I can search up the pic online. EDIT: found them already pic1 pic2
Thats damn pretty. Brings back memories of when mine came out of the booth. As for the hood I have to say Im not sold on the CF look against the Grabber Blue or on a Maverick, but I do know I would not have the heart to paint it either. That hood is just too nice to paint. If you like the CF look on an old car then leave it as is. I kind of like that Mustang idea. I think that would be enough to just break up the CF and help it blend in with the old car.
