Ever since I got into cars as a kid, I had a thing for Gassers. They were so over-the-top and so exemplified that wild era of drag racing and automobilia.

Over the last few years, with the nostalgia craze, the resurgance of Rat Rods and Kar Kulture just wetted my cravings, so I started seriously keeping an eye out for a Gasser project.

    I've found it!

    A '65 Falcon
A barn find for the guy I bought it from, it's not just a half-built project no one ever got off the ground, it was raced, with a big block Ford, believed to be a 427 and 4-speed and later an injected small block Ford. Don't know if it ever made a name for itself or was just a small track weekend warrior, or down-and-dirty street racer.

Bench racing, rumor, fact or fiction,...Don't matter,....it's perfect!.....even had the 60's Econoline van seats that the previous owner took out, but included with the deal

I can't wait to bring her home next week.

This is going to be a s##tload of fun!

    Great find :bananaman

My first car was a 65 Falcon and if I could have found another one in good shape years ago, I would have been building it right now instead of my Maverick :)

Not to those actually old enough to remember seeing them at the strip...when it was the new and novel idea of the time. Gassers led to the Funny Cars.

Great looking wagon. I thought of doing that to the mav parts car that I had but decided I would rather put the money into the one I already have. A friend of mine back in the late 60s did that to a 64 comet caliente hard top. It was called the purple haze. It was just a street car but pretty quick. A fun project for sure.
