Just got it back from the shop this afternoon. Turns out you guys were right! :thumbs2: It was a faulty crank position sensor. Boy, with how much I payed, you'd think the part was made of solid gold!!! $355 total cost to replace it, and the cost of the part was $170. I almost $h!t myself when I saw the bill!!

The only weird thing... After I left the shop, I noticed my right turn signal is not working right. It's blinking WAY too fast. The left one is fine. I checked to make sure all the bulbs were working and they all light up just fine. Oh well. Always something...

I'm just glad my Jeeps on the road again.

Thanks for you're input guys. You gave me the peace of mind to at least have an idea of what was wrong. Thanks again!! :thumbs2:

Go figure Pete beat me to it again....LOL. Missed this thread somehow. Crank sensor is all you need to keep and old Cherokee goin forever. At least it seems that way.
I drove Cherokees for about 15 years. Theres a reason for that.

I sold my 1990 with 230k miles on it and the 2001 only has 20k, (would be my daily driver if I were stateside.) There's a reason why I'd puchased another.

Hope they bring the model back one day. China makes the knock off which appears as a cross between the Cherokee and Commander.
