I'm bout to break down and buy some wheel for my car but I ran into something are 14x6 stock on 73 comet? Or is it 14x7?
Most have 14" x 4 1/2". A few I have seen have 14" x 6". Never seen 14" x 7" on a Maverick from the factory.
If you're buying new wheels, think about going with a little larger diameter wheels. 14" tires are only going to get harder to get. I went with 15" Torq Thrust because I already had them but if I hadn't, I probably would've looked into late model Mustang wheels and spacers. Takes off are cheap on Craigslist and the tires are easy to find.
X2 if you're doing a concourse restoration then stay with 14s if not 15s are the way to go. Around here I cant find any 14" tires that would look good on a maverick. I can only find 195 and smaller.
