This morning at 3:30 I left to pick up the trailer at the shop to head out for a look and possible purchase of a 70 Maverick but when I arrived at the guys house I wasn't impressed in the least. It was not even a good parts car but there was another little Ford setting there way in the back of the garage, under about four foot of junk that had been piled up over the years, 20 of them. I asked and he said, "It's just an old clunker that we would be glad to get rid of cheap" so we started to dig for it and finally we were there. Seems it was his dads and he had lost his license as he was going blind so it was parked behind the garage for a few years and then put inside as it was left to the grand-daughter. She started to locate a lot of NOS parts for it and then lost interest in it this past spring. I bought it, with some fresh gas and a jump box I loaded it and brought it home. I have every receit for everything that was ever done to it and that includes all of the safety modification/recalls that have been performed.
Runs like a raped ape. 1976 Pinto Sport Sedan with every option available except the radio is only an am/fm, no 8 track. Almost forgot, She just put 4 new tires on it in May.

Leave it as is, is the plan at this time. Maybe a turbo or super charger later down the road. The 2.8 V6 scoots it pretty good.

$300. Didn't even pay for the tires. He wanted it to disappear so I made it do so.

If I was going to do something like that why stop at 351 keep going till ya hit 427. But doing any of that your going to frame it, narrowed 9", roll cage, stronger front end and the list has just started. My plan is to restore it except for a few changeable things like paint and interior. Then drive it as a daily transportation. Unique, little classy and good on gas.

Sounds like a good score. You see less of them then you do of Mavericks and Comets.:)

My brother had a '78 Mustang, with the 2.8. It was also a little screamer. That little engine would really take that little Mustang up the road!
