A little heads up. The other purple mav with black rims is a target special. Found one myself. The rims are black with a orange ring around the rim

 

I got some of those at Wal Mart the other night.

 

My guess is that its to all retail stores not just wal mart

So far. everything that I have seen promoting the purples ones seems to indicate that this is a Walmart-only thing. This is mainly eBay auctions promoting them by guys that seem to buy caseloads. The bigger online boards that list all the new cars have seemed to let this color variation fly under the radar. Usually they are sharp at listing variations. They also seem to be keeping mum about all the hidden Treasure Hunt variations. Perhaps that is an effort to thwart the guys that race into stores and grab them for resale.

The fact that you found one in Target is interesting. Might just be a slip up or an odd return a store took back. Or ... might be they are just starting to ship purples to them too.

Two sets of rims in the purple ... 5 spoke chrome and the newer style with black center.

Also recently found the blue racing series release in 3 packs and 10 packs at WM.

 

I found three purple black rims at Target last Sunday. Still haven't spotted any purples at WM

 

Ok ... now we are getting somewhere ... purples going to Target.

BTW ... many WMs are resetting their entire Toy Dept ... getting ready for fall. It the peghooks there look a little light in your store, they are probably holding back on restocking until the move takes place.

These stores seem to be moving their HWs two aisles over. Once they did, the pegs were slammed full, presumably from cases in back that have been withheld, and THAT is where I found the two purples I have so far here. They always seem to take longer to hit the east coast.

 

I found two more yesterday at Target. The black rim that is
