I was born in Austin and know exactly where it is. Just a little walk to see the bats come out in the evening under the Congress bridge. Alot of night stuff.. well.. stuff to see and do. If it's hot you gotta go to Barton Springs. It's not that far from the hotel. Take a stroll by the lake and check out Stevie Rays statue.. 6th street at night gets intresting, don't recommend kids though. Plenty of really good Mexican restraunts, but I know the best .. I may have to stomp in on you guys.. Can't wait to see the itenerary..

I would love to make it down with my dad. It will be close to having his build completed. I just have to figure out how to get the money to get the motor and transmission put together. If it is done I will make it down.

Heck if I knew that I could get it finished I would hold off giving it to him at Christmas and make up a reason why I need him to go with me to Austin TX and give it to him during the event. I will have to crunch numbers to see if the money will be there to finish it.

Actually we aren't going to be at the Town Lake Holiday Inn you're thinking about. This one is the former Radisson [that has been completely remodeled] where Highland Mall used to be. We ARE going to see the bats, though!

I know guys. I was so excited when I saw that it was going to be in Austin. I am going to be in the Philippines on a mission trip for two weeks in July. I do not have the dates yet of my mission trip and I am even trying to influence the dates as I type this.

Wow! That's a little farther than 130 miles. What great adventure.
