I think you all will like this, even though it has a long way to go still.

We are having a garage sale this weekend and I'm selling my forgoton model kits, well not all that is:D

This is a bash from 2 kits I started many years ago and it's one I fogot about but am going to keep and finnish...in the winter when there is nothing to do at nite.

The basic Johan kit although a great body, under the hood and chassis is pritty lame so I kit bashed it with this.....but it looks like I'll have to get another as some parts are missing now.

The only thing I can't find of the Johan's is the red tail lites....so I'm pritty luckey considering a few years back a 2ish year old got into my model kits and, well you know the rest.

Still has the plastic on the box, no bar code iether.

As you can see, the Johan chassis is'nt all that great for detail
    [IMG]

Took alot of "syferin" and cutting to get to the, almost ready for glue and primer.

I had to move tha gas tank closer to the rear end... I cut it out and lost it, so I cast a new one from epoxy, I made the mold myself from another kit.

Not what the real deal looks like but I'm happy with it. Everything fits good, just needs some glue to keep the gaps closed.

    Hood is primer ready
    [IMG]

A bit blurry... I think I'll use the Mustang dash. It fit in there with no mods.

I need another Mustang kit for the rad, front of motor, and the dual exhaust.

Remember, no glue...those carbs just wouldn't stay still....or was it my shakey hand.....

I do have the rear bumper
    [IMG]

Front spoiler is taped on for the pic, needs some mods/cut 'n' sand to fit rite. I'm also gona shave some off the base of the seats, they are just to high in there. [IMG]

    Thanks for looking:tiphat:

I have that same model. I too need to finish it someday..
The wing is a bit much for my taste and it looks like you ran over something and dented your diff housing (pumpkin).. But it does look good.. What color is it going to be?

As a fellow model car builder who's done a fair bit of choppin' an hackin' in plastic, I can really appreciate the work you've done here. In fact, I've had a Johan Maverick in the works for a few years now, and I started exactly the same way you did; by replacing the lame chassis with a newer style Mustang one. I haven't gotten nearly as far as you have though. Well done. Looking forward to seeing the finished product. Good luck. John B

Lookis good! I did the same thing years ago with a JoHan mav but I used the 1/25 scale 65 mustang kit from revelle for the towers/chassis. Its currently apart since I have to re-do it to represent my blue beast when its done...
    I love kit bashing!!!

There is proof that a Boss 9 will fit in our cars without cutting the towers out!!!!!!!!!!!
    Nice Job!

Very cool project. I just scored a couple of Johan Mavericks off of E-bay. Will be making a resin copy to mod like my son's car will be and then shoot several colors so he can finally decide on a color!

It looks like they were moved outward, I think dyno Don's car was like that. Kinda thought about doing that to my car, but I'm not smart enough to figure out suspension geometry.

You know, the Boss 429 is only 5" wider than my 351w and 2" narrower than the SOHC 427...................maybe it will fit if I notch my towers just a little more.
