Kind of embarassed here...i cannot figure out how to renove my window cranks in my 70 maverick...do they just pop off or what?
There is a Phillips head screw hiding under a very thin (read: bendable) cover that is held in place with adhesive. Gently pop that off the center of the handle and you will have access to the screw. I believe these covers disappeared in '73. I was able to re-install my covers without adding any more adhesive. This stuff stays tacky for a long time. I used a small pick to pry the cover off.
Holy cow...ur the man....the little silver cover peels off...it looks seemless until u start to try to peel it...thanks!
No worries. If you bugger them up, you can live without them. If you can't live without them, they are still available for about $1.50 each. AutoKrafters sells them in their Maverick catalog on pg.15. Most other Mustang/Ford vendors would also carry them.
Glad you asked this question because I couldn't figure it out either I was taking the door panel off and had to stop and come in to search the forum for the answer
