I now have a 6 into 1 header for my 200-6 and wonder what is the best size pipe to run to the back ? Keep in mind that I may install a 250 head and now have a 2 barrel on it. If I go with a 250 head and bigger valves I want to already have the right size pipe for these conditions Thanks Rick
What other modifications have you made to your engine, if any? That would help to determine what size pipe would be best. Without knowing I would not go over 2 inch inside diameter. If you have made other internal mods like bigger camshaft and higher compression etc you could go 2 1/4. I currently have a 6 into 2 header with dual exhaust and I am running a 2 inch pipe but could probably go 2 1/4 for a bit more performance.
After reading everything I could find about BMW and Jaguar inline 6 exhaust I decided to go with 2-1/2" with my 6-2-1 header. After the turbo muffler it spits into two 2" pipes over the axle and exits behind each rear tire. http://1bad6t.com/Maverick/maverick_43.html
2 1/4 compression bends for a milder build.. and 2 1/4 mandrel bent for higher airflow and performance.
^^^this guy. THere's also a chart and an article talking about sizing up the pipes on a six at classic inlines http://classicinlines.com/proddetail.asp?prod=WAE-200-ISS Think you should figure out how many ponies you're making and how many you want in the future.
It fits. Highly encouraged. Flows better from what I understand. May need to mill it for desired for CR
200 and 250 used the same exact head. Later model head had bigger intake log and larger intake valves
