Blocked out the passenger side rear quarter, door sill plate area, door hinge area, need to finish the rest of the door jams. Also blocked out the upper rear quarter where its leaded.

Im going to Florida for 4 weeks for work. Leave monday the 22nd, and return the 21st of aug trying to get a few things done -- Also need to gather everything together and send it off to sandblast and powder coat.

While im in florida im going to purchase the custom 9" rear end, as well as start purchasing the front mustang II hub to hub setup.

Picked up twin 10 gal air tanks -- going to put air ride suspension on the car (bag it).

Went to the body & paint shop to check on the doors they're almost done and ready to hang. Would like to pin them for easy removal/installation. Also got a quote for the Pinto high back seats to get done. Also inquired on getting the driver side rear quarter hung... Is $610 + cost of quarter a decent price for professionally done blocked, and primered ready for paint?

Is that a repop quarter or a Ford NOS quarter?

The problem is not how to move the hood without damaging anything. The problem is that the hood latch is stuck. The release will move up and down all day and the hook will move inside the mechanism.but the car still wont give me the damn hood! I think I might just crawl under and into the engine bay then take the whole hood lock off.

Unbolt the latch from the hood working through the grille

but a local guy i know fairly well would hang the fender, block it out, and set it up with primer basically ready for paint for $610. The guy is also a very famous for our city/state for professionally built rail cars, drags, show cars, and street rods.

Pulled a pair of axles out of a 73 in the junkyard to convert the kids 70 to 5 lug. Also scored a set of Crown Vic cop wheels with center caps, and the spotlight while down there!

I think he will find the repop quarter does not fit very well. That would be a really good price for an NOS panel.

Just pulling the "axles" out of a 1973 will not work on a 1970. You need the entire rear axle.

Craig- good to know. Why is that? They are both 8" rear ends aren't they?

Very few 1970's got an 8" rear axle. Even if it did, the 4-lug tubes are not as big as the 5-lug tubes, so the bearing will not fit.

Couldn't you just put in 73 bearings?

O.D. and I.D are different on 4-lug vs 5-lug axles
