We guys/gals here it is! Of course it doesn't show me what I really wanted to see, but it does have some interesting facts! You all have seen more of these than I have and also know more about these cars....soooo, can anyone tell me if my car is unusual in any way besides it being a Bear Cat? Thanks!

I will be getting the window sticker next. I'm pretty sure that is what I need now to show that this is a true Bear Cat to those who suspect that it is not. lol

I wasn't sure if that was a low number or not. lol! How about 233 with the trim? Is that the gold stripe? And is that rare?

Since it was a Dealer package, I doubt it would show on the factory window sticker, that its a Bear Cat. Wouldn't it have come from Pugimire ? Or was that Stabbers?

How would I get that information? It wasn't on the sales receipt that my Mom got when she bought it.

"Trim" is the interior. Only 233 of ALL 1973 2-door Comets came with that paint and interior combo. I would say that is pretty rare.

With a Elite Report, Marti will work the numbers down until it could be one of one(though the only Comet GT I've seen was something like one of 14)... For instance how many of that 233 had V8 engine??? Doesn't say, but my guess is maybe half, so that puts the car at maybe one of 115 or so...

Considering minor details, the number would be even lower, as a example check out this '79 Stang Cobra one of one...

Yay! That is really cool. Only 233 with the paint and trim is pretty sweet!

I'm still trying to get my wife to help my kids buy me one for Christmas or a Birthday or something.

Since the Bear Cat was a dealer installed package I don't think it would show up on a Marti report or window sticker it probably had a small option sticker that was installed on the window at the dealership. Did your mother buy the car new or used. Maybe she kept the window stickers. I never saw a 73 Bear Cat but since it was an dealer installed package it could have been installed at the dealer. I only thought the Bear Cat was made in 1972. But naturally I could be wrong it wouldn't be the first time.

Unless the car was specifically ordered with non standard equipment installed at factory, dealer packages will not be on a Marti report... By '73 I don't think that was happening...

My Mother bought this car new in Rome, GA off the showroom floor. She said that they told her at the dealer that it had the Bear Cat package. And that they installed the sidepipes and the front air dam as some parts of the Bear Cat package. She said that it has been so long ago that she couldn't remember all that they told her. But, she bought this one because it was different and she had never seen one before. I have the original paperwork where she bought it and wrote a check for the whole amount of the car. A whopping $3691.95. Which, I guess if we looked it up, it would show that this is more than a stock GT. I wish I could talk to the sales rep that sold it to her. His name was T. Wayne Smithson and I even have his sales card! lol

The Bear Cat came from Warren Lindsey in Rome, GA, I know. Not sure what other dealer's had them, but I have been told that there was at least two dealer's in Georgia.

I wonder if that would show how many had the Bear Cat package ordered? I'm gonna eventually get the Elite, but just couldn't afford it at the moment. And I was hoping to have as much info on the car by the time we went to the Rod Run. I don't know why I'm trying so hard to prove this is an original when I know it is, but I know how many remakes of the Bear Cat there are out there too. And I know I have a few disbelievers. But, what Mom tells me and growing up with the car means a lot. It just means more when you have the proof in your hands. :)

No as I stated the Bear Cat package was dealer installed... My guess is the sales manager pointed to this red one and maybe the yellow one on the end, and told his body shop to do the mods... If those sold or maybe someone wanted a blue, they modified another one or two...
