I thought I read somewhere that the Disco was a Walmart exclusive - any truth to that?

I just haven't seen any Disco cars anywhere, in any store

I saw one the other day at Fred Meyer in a 20 pack for 19.95. I didn't buy it, but that is the only way I have seen one. The black street beast with the gold graphics was in a 9 pack but I bought that one and is the only way I have seen one. Happy hunting. :tiphat:

I haven't even seen a disco car on eBay. I think those are going to be more rare than the treasure hunt cars which are all over eBay.

Where did you find the disco car?

My Christmas present to ME ....

Found a little time and assembled my Fantasy 9 Pack ...

I put the "9 pack only" Black Mav in the exclusive decoration corner. It is odd that even the really well-informed HWs websites don't seem to know about this. We are probably the only folks paying attention to it this close.

I hung this on the wall. There are clear plastic "repair tabs" that some retailers use to repair products that hang on peg hooks where the peg hole has torn through. They are adhesive on the bottom portion and the hanger portion can stick out above the edge. I have one on each corner .... works great. It will damage the package a bit if removed later, if you are concerned about pristine packaging.

Good to know that comes in the three pack. I will be looking at the three packs for the newest Grabber-style one.

The HWs Car Maker is pretty cool. My grandson has one and we made cars for a couple hours. This thing talks you through the whole process in a robot voice. Very safe too, it locks the door while heating. No Mav body molds though ....

I had the first generation HWs car maker when I was 10, and that was much more like a super-hot Playdough Fun Factory ... a bit of a burn hazard, and IIRC, you had to time things out manually.

...they are around on ebay. I have seen them on Amazon and online hobby stores as well. I have a collection of the recent HotWheel Mavericks but this one I am passing on, I think the paint scheme is fugly.

Ironically I saw this one just after I made that post. I have checked several times in the last few weeks to a month and honestly this is the first one I've seen and I'm watching it.

Seen a couple but not many, I do agree that they seem to be more illusive than most. $15 shipped to the door seems to be the going rate. Amazon sellers seem out right now.

    These guys have one...

That site will not allow me to add the item to the cart. Maybe they don't have it either.

    Dave,

That MasterCaster must have been the next step after mine. The one I had would have been around 1970 and melted plastic ingots, cylinders with a slot cut in them.

I got a response to the email I sent them and they do not have any in stock.

I searched extensively for pics of the one I had ... no luck. I guess after the supplies ran out, they became pretty useless.
