If it is up to your usual level of greatness, I think you will sell a bunch of these. I definitely like getting rid of that extra body line. Is there any way to mold the endcaps to the body without fear of the seam cracking later? Doing the caps in metal and welding them is what comes to my mind, but I know that is not an area that you work in, and the cost would be huge.

    Looks amazing.

Dumb question because I'm pretty sure I already know the answer...

70-73 rears only right? You are not doing 2 styles of end cap?

here is another shot of the trunk from more of a back angle.

once you paint your car with the end caps "on" they will crack the paint. so ideally you would want to take the caps off when painting. that is one reason why you see my white car in R&D the sad part i will not be able to put this trunk on my other car because it was painted with the end caps on. :( but i guess you could weld them in like you said but that is up to you. my parts though will be in carbon fiber so no welding on those. ;)

not a dumb question but you are correct. this will work only on 70 to 73s. given i had a 75 and i could have r&d that but like i said, i "had" a 75 i sold it so no car to r&d i know someone would lend me one but at this time i have so much on my plate already. ;)

Looks good buddy, but I don't think we're going to see quite as much of a horse power increase as we would have with a ricer type wing. ;)

What's the height difference over a stock Grabber spoiler?

it is at least worth 50 horses to the wheels!! ;)

actually i do not know lol! but it is taller as you can see in the photo. ;) i have another spoiler coming out to me so if i remember i will try to do a comparison.

some people were asking how much of a difference it was between this spoiler trunk integration vs the stock Grabber one. well this is "how much" it may not look like much in the photo but it is enough to get noticed!

here is a photo of the new modified end cap next to the intergraded spoiler trunk

one problem i did run into was this.

now do know is still not finished the spoiler parts still needs some work done to it.

however the part circled in red is more of what i am talking about (forget the part to the right of that... that will be fixed).

it seems the more subtle and gradual swoop i make i will end up with a tad of extra height next to the rear quarter where the end cap, trunk and new integrated spoiler meet (as show in the red circle). this is because of how the stock grabber spoiler is actually higher then the stock trunk if you all can recall it is a "bolt on". if i sand or cut any lower it taps in to the stock trunk and it will have no smooth transition form trunk to spoiler. or if i redo it the swoop will not flow as nice and the line from the original "bolt" grabber spoiler will still be there and that defeats the whole purpose of making it integrated. plus it will look like a total after thought. do know i am using the original grabber spoiler and end caps on this prototype so i can get the exact shape as the original but just a tad taller and without the line.

i am thinking i may just leave it this way. what are you guys thoughts?

so my question from you.... would this be ok to you.... NOW remember easy said then done. you're not doing it so keep that in mind. plus no one else is stupid enough to do this but me! ;)

one thing i have to tell myself and you have to tell yourself is these cars that were built in the 70s and were far from perfect. i also have noticed every grabber end cap i have put on has fit different on my car. and never flush on the top to the rear quarter. lol! also all mavericks i have seen the trunk also never lines up right. so one must remember the maverick was not perfect to being with. ;)

Wouldn't bother me as I will "adjust" the top of the quarter to fix that.

Having said that, even the stock end cap and trunk lid part don't fit exact with each other. I say you have done an amazing job, it looks great, leave it alone. How fast can you ship them to me. I'll take them right now! :)

I personally would like to see the area circled in RED fixed so that it matches up with the rear quarter.....but I do understand that is just more work for you. :D
