well i know you Comet Guys wanted a Carbon Fiber Hood.... BUT this is the closest you are going to get! ;) a Carbon Fiber Comet GT Hood Scoop!

this also will work with 69 - 70 Cougars and 69 -70 Mercury Cyclones since we all know that the hood scoop is the same

i also want to thank Ken for getting me the original scoop to do this one!

do know that the estimated cost is not going to be cheap! it look a lot of work to get this done. we are looking at around $375 - $400 plus shipping on these.

it will be going off for test fit soon! after it is test fitted it will go in for full production!

    hope you guys like it!

But the scoop is added to a hood that fits the GT's and the basic Comet. I see sales lol..

Though the basic shape of the scoop is identical the stud mount locations are different on the GT, Eliminator, and Cyclone. They are actually 3 different part numbers. Never the less, cool part and if you copied a GT scoop that's all that matters here.:thumbs2:

;) that is why i made a flat carbon OE hood for Maverick Guys whom want this scoop. ;)

yes Dan the main point is for the Comet GT. ;) however i have multiple mounting holes for each application.

you can't see it well in this photo but if you look closely you will see more then one mounting hole in some spots. i will test for the Comet first that is my main concern. personally i think buyers of this scoop are going to be people whom don't have a scoop already on their car so they can drill where ever they want too. lol!

Derrick, you think of everything! I think the different mounting locations are to avoid the under hood webbing. That is awesome Mr. Yee.

I believe it's the other way round so the studs go right through the bracing in the center. That makes it a stronger mounting point.

From what I've seen, the repro scoops which are available so far do not come with the correct mounting points which is another plus for this product!

If I wouldn't have two already, I'd certainly buy this nice carbon fiber one!

I need to correct myself. I have 4 hoods. Both cars have their origional hoods with the factory scoop.. Then I have an extra very nice factory hood with no scoop or holes. Then I have a glass hood that is getting a modified L88 scoop. I'm thinking the plain hood can get this carbon scoop. That is if I can afford it along with a carbon spoiler and if they are all available if and when I am ready. Being they look so nice and should not need paint, I can just add them once done with paint etc.. Maybe there will be some carbon sport mirrors by then :rofl2:
