Big Thanks, I was bugging myself looking at diff ac compressors with shorter dimensions, etc. So this is a problem inherent in this swap, I shall follow your fix.......man this site is a must for anyone trying to restore a Maverick:woohoo1:

My Taurus fan came factory with a 30 amp fuse. Been using it for years with a 90 amp alternator and using a 35 amp relay to switch it on and off with no issues. Way over 150k miles on the setup.

I would also suggest swapping that fuel filter for a metal one. That style has caused quite a few fires.

Jamie, are you running the high/low sides of the fan?

I initially had both wired up to two separate relays with a SPDT switch to go between high and low. After a couple of years I realized the only time I ever used the high speed was when I occasionally flipped the switch to see if it still worked.. lol For the past 3 or so years I've only had the low speed wired up, it's more than adequate for my car.

the high side is the tricky one to wire. the fan needs the low running first then switch to the high. I never wired one this way but an on/off/on toggle switch should do it with two 30 amp relays. as before I'm a...Volvo relay...person. it does this for you.

Really? I had not heard of that, it's a Mr. Gasket and is one of two filters, I have a large plastic straight through flow right in front of the electric fuel pump between it and that tank, then this little guy as a secondary...but it can sure hit the trash can ASAP!
