When using the stock maverick front suspension do any of you limit how far the front end raises before the front tires are pulled off the ground. If so will you post pictures of what you did to stop the travel. My comet has about 8inches of travel before it pulls the tire out of the beams and my reaction times are all over the place. Any help would be appreciated

I have limiting straps on mine. They go from the upper control arm to the outside shock tower support. I drilled several holes in the shock tower support for adjustment. If you need a pic Matt just let me know and I will crawl under there to get a shot.

you can buy them as well. everyone that makes them makes a lot of different lengths, many of them will make custom lengths also. you are in AZ so i suggest the Offroad Warehouse (ORW) there house brand straps are very good, i believe 3 or 4 layers of material.

How fast is your car and what 60ft times does your car run?

Here is the drivers side at rest. The top of the strap is the adjustable part. I have three different holes up there and it is in the uppermost (least amount of travel) hole at the moment. The straps are 12" long (eyelet to eyelet) and are just a generic two layer strap.

Originally I was going to use a cable, but I thought that might have a bit too much shock to the front suspension and my logic was that the strap might take some of that up. Of course I suppose the strap can stretch over time. (We had that issue in our off road car, but it was subjected to a much rougher environment.) I also only went with one strap per side and the argument could be made that I am torquing the upper a-arm when it hits the limiter. You could always put one on the rear in the same fashion as well if that was a concern.

actually I see your car runs 11.20's at 119 correct? and 1.50 60fts? I dont think your car is pulling the wheels out of the lights, cars dont really start doing that until they get into the low 1.30 60ft tims, I run 1.42 and pull the wheels as high as 2 ft off the ground and I dont have that problem.

no, they actually do the opposite, full travel gives you the greatest weight transfer, limiting travel is used to control wheel stands, and sometimes tying the car will get the car to react on the tree quicker because energy isnt wasted going up, some people have also limited the last couple inches of travel to stop the negative caster gain at the end of the travel
