Is there a recommended vender to find something as simple as a radio antenna, or is that something to just pick up at a local car audio retailer? I checked through the vender list and saw one site, but I didn't like their antenna. Thanks, Northern
I know we have been trading emails back and forth, but have you considered a power antennae? I have one on my orange car, and I wrote a tech article about it.
To be honest, no, i havent, but i havent considered anything really. I have a hole in my fender and no radio... I enjoy the mechanical side of fun cars, but i never was into the sterios or electronics...whatever it came with is usually good enough.
Thats kinda cool... does it come with the square mounting plate on the fender, or is that one a factory piece thats modified?
I like the power set up but I took a different route, I filled the hole! With all the technology in our phones I rarely listen to the radio. I'm so tired of the fast paced, scream at you pot lot ads and the scam ads for mortgages and what not I listen to Pandora or mp3's.
I have one of the black rubber coated antennas mounted (tie strapped) under the dash...thanks Dennis (Mavoholic).
I guess I'm one of the few that still listen to FM. The only thing I don't like about the fixed mast is that you gotta put a hole in the car cover for it.
AFAIK the rectangular base is same size as the '80s Fords should be able to find one at the salvage yard... Plus is the mast screws out of those(though I find the mast protruding through the car cover helps keep it from sliding in the floor while I move to other side)......
