has nayone ever bought suspension parts for our cars or any car for that matter from RARE PARTS? I purchased a idle arm but it hasn't arrived yet just ccuriuos if I jumped the gun and bought a crappy part when I called advance auot and O'reilly they both only could get it threw rare parts
What was the cost if I may ask? Sound like something a company would come up with just to jack up the prices on a common part
The idler I bought for my Falcon was a different design with a curved arm to clear the header tubes . The bracket was designed for 2-bolt instead of 3-bolt installation.
I dunno maybe, are a few on ebay but at least a couple say NOS... The '73/'74 seem to be all but obsolete, but can buy the bushings... I used a center link on my Comet from a '77 Maverick, that idler is same as Granada and readily available(think I bought mine from Summit)...
I bought both their center (drag) link and pitman arm from them 6-7 years ago for my 77 Comet. They're holding up fine. But as with what someone else mentioned, you just never know now-a-days how parts compare anymore. Would I buy from them again ? Yea.
It is my understanding the owner of Rare Parts Inc purchased the original tooling from Moog for the parts he carries. So as far as the tooling goes, I place them very high and it appears he is using a good quality metal. The parts are spot on accurate.
The APPEARANCE of any part is only a small part of it's overall quality. Only time and use will give the true story here.
how about FALCON STEERING anyone out there use their stuff as well,i was looking at the inner and outer tie rods they have wanted to throw it out there
