The problem I'm having Larry is I can't find studs to try. The set from the parts store is $117 and I'm not paying that for studs! Lol. I have not found any aftermarket company that makes them in a knurl close to mine. If i could find a set of axles from an older or newer maverick, then I would be just fine. But the small knurl for the 74-75 cars is what's causing my headaches. I'll figure something out.

Here are some. They're 4 bucks-a-piece, so you're looking at $40 for the rears. Free shipping.

There again, the mustang knurl size is .625. I appreciate the help Larry.

Edit: Ok, so I found something that will work. Dorman part# is 610-298. Used on the ford econoline and some f250's. .547 knurl and 2 inches long. So that'll give me my 1/4" back anyways. Man, this hot rodding stuff us stressful!

A stud for a '73 Mustang is no different from a stud on a '73 Maverick, unless perhaps it's for a 9-inch rearend, but many '73 Mustangs had 8-inch rearends.

You are correct Larry, but the 74-75 is different. Mine is a lot smaller. .545. Earlier mavericks and the mustangs are .625

Yes Rasit, those are the stock studs. The ones I picked up are a .547 knurl and 2 inches long. Should work just fine.
