Does anyone know what the center of the sport steering wheel is made of , is it cleared metal? Stainless? Mine has little tiny spots of rust on it , was wondering the best way to clean it
Check out my resources relating to the Sport Steering wheels: http://mmb.maverick.to/resources/authors/mercgt73.974/
Unfortunately the centers are plastic, but in my opinion, these are the best looking wheels for Mavericks and Comets.
Not sure.. with his description of "rust specks".. but I think he was asking more about the spokes and just used the wrong terminology?
You are correct! Guy has a King Cobra a block or 2 over from where I live with this wheel in it. 302, 4 speed, ugly 70's shit brown, gaudy ass decals + pinstripes with tan interior that matches. He'll sell the car BUT I'm sure he'll want a small fortune
Yes, they came in the Mustang IIs, but they could be the non functional horn version. If the donor car had the horn switch on the stalk, then the wheel will not have the horn contactor rings.
'74-'78 will work on Mavericks/Comets. The '79 and later had a different horn, locking mechanism, and turn signal cancellation.
