Those drilled holes look really good. I wonder exactly what was used to drill them.
I had a set of scoops that I had a friend completely cut out. I then epoxy'd some mesh grill material that looked just like the fake grill pattern. Then.........I lost them. I have no idea where they could have gone. 'Really bums me out. How do you lose a pair of Grabber scoops??

In any case, I think I'd rather have them drilled like those shown here.

Yes, @73curtis , my car still has the original paint on it, except the lower cowl and engine compartment. The car has a little over 20,000 original miles on it right now.

Large decals can be intimidating, I designed, cut and applied my own, this is heavy 3-M reflective vinyl, lots of soapy water when applying and don't use transfer tape (decal will slide easily to position) or you can use transfer tape but leave it on till it's dry, pulling the transfer tape off too soon will cause bubbles, just use a good squeegee and any small bubbles that are left after you finish can be taken out with a straight pin/needle, I applied mine by myself, didn't take long at all once I got going with them, was really freaked out about it before I started, once I got going it was all good! you can see they came out nice and smooth.........

1970 Grabbers had two stripes painted on the hood and cowl.
1971 Grabbers had one large area painted on the hood only (like mine). This is why a STENCIL is all that is available through Licensed Ford products.
1972 Grabbers had two large vinyl decals separated by a small relief of body colour.

My black treatment on my hood and tail panel has a slight texture to it and NOT gloss.
My car is not back together yet. It still needs the following:
    • Vinyl top needs gluing
    • Seats need installing
    • Front and back glass needs installed
    • front fenders, hood, grille and bumpers need to be installed

Stripes were painted on in '70 and '71. Both did not have a center stripe but '70 stripes went into the cowl. '72 had the center stripe.

My car is a '71 with '72 stripes because I ran into the same problem, not possible to clear over it and have it remain flat as original. They do not make a '71 decal unless you have it custom made. I like the center stripe.

I'm pretty sure 1970 had two separate stripes on the hood, though.

I didn't know that the '70 stripe went over the cowl. I always thought people who had it over the cowl were doing it wrong.

    'Always learning.
