Hey guys i am new to the forum and i have a couple questions. i am doing a conversion to 4 wheel disc brakes and i cam across Right Stuff products from JEGS. i already have the front done it was done before i bought the car. I am looking to upgrade my 1974 Ford Maverick can anyone let me know if these would work in my vehicle with minor fitting adjustments and has anyone used any of these products and how are they. any information would be appreciated. thanks http://www.jegs.com/i/Right-Stuff/965/G85310572/10002/-1 http://www.jegs.com/i/SSBC/884/A1480012/10002/-1 http://www.jegs.com/i/JEGS-Performance-Products/555/630600/10002/-1
... we use the Crown Vic. rear disc on a Ford 8" around here (Ga.). we get them from Pull A Part by the truck load for $45 a set. I did a write up on how to use the stock E-brake with them. http://mmb.maverick.to/threads/stock-e-brake-system-for-rear-disc-brakes.96019/ Frank
I would go the direction Frank suggests. One of the issues with aftermarket brake kits is that some of the parts are not easily procurable. Case in point, I bought a disk brake conversion from Summit's demo rack. Turns out that it was missing pieces. I tried to buy the missing parts from Summit only to be told they were not procurable individually. I talked them into refunding my $$. If you use Ford parts, you can go to any auto parts store and buy what you need. Brakes wear, so at some point you will need replacement parts.
I have a "Right Stuff " kit on the rear of my car ,but I havent driven the car yet with it due to the car has a few more ongoing "projects" that have yet to be completed.
that looks really nice going to give it a try just got my shipment on friday. going to see how it fits
