Few years back I decided to add intermittent wipers to my car and it was one of the best choices that I made. The only problem is it can be expensive/hard to find the correct wiper delay switch and box. I just found this on ebay tonight and it seems like a great option for someone who would want to add it. Thought I would share. https://www.ebay.com/itm/Intermitte...h=item4ad9378180:g:0H0AAMXQzr1R4cAd:rk:5:pf:0
William I have a small number (2 or 3 ) of the ford intermittent wiper boxes with switch ... The boxes I have tested and have tested good but I'am not sure about the switches .. The last time I check the switches were getting hard to find some of the AMC car also used Ford type of wiper switches ..
Melvin's has the switchs. http://www.parts123.com/parts123/yb...~S5C21B8KHJ96322013971a~Z5Z5Z5~Z5Z5Z50001018o http://www.parts123.com/parts123/yb...~S5C30S2I0296322013914x~Z5Z5Z5~Z5Z5Z50001018o
If there are any junkyards left that have older stuff, I have found tons of them over the years in pickups from the 70's and 80's. Here is an old thread about the swap - http://mmb.maverick.to/resources/how-to-intermittent-interval-wiper-repair.109/
All the junkyards near me don’t have older trucks any more. I got lucky awhile back and found two of them in a junkyard in the boondocks.
I know this is an older thread, but I have intermittent wipers in my 88 F150. Would this switch work in a Maverick? The pins and switch look alike......?
That should be OK - but will probably need the extra steps to get the knob lettering in the right position. Or just use the knob without lettering like in your 1988, if original looks are not important.
Grab the switch and the brain box - it is plug and play except for possibly switching 1 wire around to make the washer pump functional. Here is a thread that shows the wire for the washer pump. http://mmb.maverick.to/resources/how-to-intermittent-interval-wiper-repair.109/
The really simple solution for intermittent wipers would be to swap a wiper switch from most any British car from the 60s or 70s. Preferably Lucas brand parts. That is because the electrical components in British cars back then only worked half the time ....
