The Comet is at it again. I went to the Mustang Memories Car Show in Dearborn Michigan today, to honor the 50th Anniversary of the Mustang. The show was not a judged show and everyone who paid the $50 entry fee got a nice travel bag, t-shirts and a nice 50th Anniversary Commemorative plaque. They ended up with 1,202 cars, at least 90% were Mustangs the rest were other Ford, Lincoln or Mercury powered vehicles. They did give out 8 sponsor awards however. Seven of the awards went to Mustangs and I got the one from Gateway Classic Mustangs. Pretty cool when a lowly ole Comet snags an award away from all those ponies. Mick
Way to go Mick! Congratulations on taking the sponsor award. I believe you had the interior done since I seen the car in Dearborn a few years ago --- It was a show winner then --- I know w/ the upgraded interior the bar was raised.
Thanks Everett. I've posted some pics of the new interior in other streams. The new interior is turning a few heads.
Well it looks like I will be in the Detroit Autorama again this year. I participated in 2016 and 2017. The Ford UAW is putting on a display for the first time and they asked me to be a part of it. There will be a 1940 Panel truck, 1968 Torino, 1999 F150, 2006 Mustang, 2007 Mustang, 2008 Mustang, junior dragster and a Ford Raptor golf cart. Show will be at Cobo Center on March 1-3.
Well the ole Comet didn't win at Autorama, over 30 cars in my class (Conservative Hardtop 1970-1979). It's hard to complete with trailer queens since I drive the Comet everywhere. I drove it to Autorama and home. I had a great time and someone stopped by to say hello.
