Hey guys. So I’m trying to start my ‘74 maverick and it runs great with starter fluid and turns over just fine. When I went to put more gas in the tank before trying to crank it again, I noticed a leak in the bottom of the tank, not even on the seam of the tank. Does anyone have a link to a gas tank I could get? The one that’s in there is the stock 15 gallon one I believe.
Do a search on gas tanks, lots of info on them. Lots of folks go to an 18 gal version. http://mmb.maverick.to/resources/1971-1973-gas-tank-upgrade.137/
Look up the spectra F30 gas tank. That is the 18 gallon tank and is the direct replacement for the later year mavericks. It will work in your maverick you will just need longer straps, fuel sender, and vent with grommets.
Ok guys. Thank you so much for the suggestions. I’m kinda new to this. Is there anywhere I can find a fuel sender for this tank? And the grommets you’re talking about?

You can probably find them cheaper if you shop around but here is the information for them. Also you do not have to buy longer straps, you can just get longer carriage bolts and they will work fine.
