A friend "Al" and I spent the weekend in Springfield, Illinois for the 26th. Roundup. He drove his 75 Maverick, I drove my Comet. The weather was great we had a weekend of sunny skies, temps in the 80's , nice breeze and moderate humidity.
We put a little over 400 miles of rain free cruising. 'The stretch from Interstate 57 on I-80 west to I-55 is in terrible shape, potholes and ruts up the a$$; beat the hell out of the car and suspension. If you have a chassis problem in that stretch of road -- It will show up.
As always, we enjoyed the time hanging out w/ the Comet/Maverick family. It was Al's first event, he's looking forward to attending a future event. There were 3 Red Comet GT's w/ the same paint code. There were 3 or 4 other Comets - more than I have seen at any event than I have attended.
Love the T shirts for this event -- think it's the best of all the shirts in the past...

I hope you make it to the 27th round up in Kingsport TN. I will be there for sure.

Well, that's a long way off for someone in my age group to predict. If by chance I can make that RU, won't be in the Comet. My Comet distant mileage limit about 300 miles. I would like to make as many as possible. I was happy to make this RU, as I had to find someone to stay w/ the wife over the weekend.
I really like the fact my friend Al "in the white Maverick" was able to roll w/ me; turned lots of heads and thumbs-up's on the trip. A lot of folks have no clue what kind of cars they're looking at.

I'd like too make that event. Car running like a "Timex Watch". However, I usually make my reservations early in the year; I hadn't made them this year. I like to stay close to the convention center -- If you don't make early "you ain't staying close". My main obstacle, is having someone to stay with the wife "have health issues".
My brother is suppose to be going, but he's a last minute person, I know he probably haven't made in reservations yet.
If I get someone to stay w/ wife, and bro has the/a room I will be going. If I can make it I will -- get back with you...

My other yearly event is/was the James Dean & Ducktail Run near Muncie, only missed a few years attending in the past 10-12 years. They may be out of reach this year because of life circumstances.
