Figured out my installation issue and got the 1992 HO 5.0l in the engine bay. Was fitting up the serpentine pulley system and noted that the AC compressor wont fit. The rear fittings hits the shock tower. Those who have done this swap and run AC, how did you resolve this clearance issue? I do have a front bracket system from a '98 explorer (similar to the mustang set up) and it also has a clearance issue, but not as bad as the low profile cougar system. Where it hits the shock tower, a standard tower notch won't solve this, would have to put a slot in it for the hose.

I did find a fitting from Vintage Air (fitting 045018) that comes up at an angle, but I think I need one that comes straight up at 90 degrees.

SN95 accessories and brackets are more compact than the truck stuff. Thats what Im trying to hunt down for my swap later on down the road.

Been in contact with Nostalgic AC. They have a part #GM1602 that they claim to be able to modify to fit the Ford compressor. Ordered it today and we'll see how that works. If it fits the compressor, it will be a great solution to the clearance issue.

and it's pretty reasonably priced as well.

Sweet, the fitting arrived and fits the compressor perfectly. Great solution from this vendor.
