    Im looking at taking my front suspension back apart to put new better parts in and was wondering what are the best parts to buy without doing the mustang 2 swap on it, i would like to keep my shock towers in place and have to do little no modifications, i was looking at doing all moog and was also wondering if they made tubular upper control arms for these cars, i will be moving on to the rear once front is finished.

    Thanks, Kyle

    I would use stock replacement parts including the upper control arms unless you are planning to doing something really special or hard-core with the car. I consider Moog a top-of-the-line stock replacement brand. Summit Racing caries Dorman stock replacement upper control arms for our cars. Springs and other components can be acquired elsewhere.

    Total Control Products, Addco bar and a set of six piston Wilwood disk have transformed the handling of my old car. Not cheep though but no modifications needed other than drilling out the upper spring retainer.

    I have TCP front coilover setup, mustang Steve disc brake adapter with my factory drum spindles and 2003 Cobra 13" discs. Chassis engineering subframes. It's still a project and now I'm on the body work phase but you can take a look at it if you like. Felt good with the limited driving I've done. You can use any 65-66 mustang front sway bar as well.

    For what it is worth, here's what I have done:
    * Bilstein front shocks
    * Open Tracker roller spring perches
    * Moog coil springs (cut)
    * Larger Addco front sway bar
    * Adjustable strut rods with spherical bearings.
    * Open Tracker Moog (American version) LCA's with spherical bearing pivots.
    * New stock Moog UCA's
    * Chassis Engineering subframe connectors (not technically front end work)
    * Unisteer R&P

    ** I didn't do a Shelby drop as my 74 Maverick has reinforcement gussets on the bottom of the shock towers just below the original UCA mounting holes.

    The tubular stuff is really nice, but can really deplete your wallet when it is all said and done.
