My Comet has one on it. I picked it up at a junk yard about 20 years ago for $15.00 dollars but I had to take it off. I've had the spoiler longer than the Comet.

I've never bought a vehicle without a title. Doing so is only asking for trouble or $$$.

Tried to get this one earlier this year. He could never produce a title and wouldn't go down to DMV to get one. BIG RED FLAGS THERE. He was willing to give this 69 1/2 Mav just to haul it off his lot. Also couldn't/wouldn't produce a title.

Back in the Days of Dinosaurs (1980s), a friend of mine got a great cash deal on a 1966 Mustang fastback. Earl Scheib Orange with a strong motor and iffy brakes. Only problem is the seller didn't have a title, only unsubmitted DMV paperwork for a duplicate title. One thing lead to another and my friend didn't bother transfering the vehicle for several months (there was still time left on the tags). Imagine his surprise finding himself the wrong end of CHP firearms during a felony arrest at the side of the 101 Freeway. The vehicle was stolen, but the DA didn't think my friend had stolen the car. They didn't charge him. Besides a weekend in jail, and loss of his wheels, it was merely a cautionary tale.

Two more things to mention on this topic. First, seeing the horror stories since this topic started, never say never. Parts cars are one thing. Drivers another completely. Still. a stolen parts car will get you in just as much trouble than a driver will. Next, you guys with kids, it was mentioned about moving them to their own insurance. I'm not sure if all the companies do this but I know some do. They are allowed to scan DMV files and they see when you get new drivers at your address along with if any covered drivers acquire points on their record. Then they up your rates automatically. When my sons got their licenses my rates jumped right away. When they got their own insurance, I had to call them to let them know so my rates would come back to earth. Be forewarned.
