You can be humble when your car talks for you by running 11s!

Richard Holdener did a video where he compared the 347 and 351W. He tried to get the engines close to the same, but couldn't exactly match specs because one of the engines was built and dyno'd at a different time. The 2 engines were still so close it could be the same motor on different runs.

Building a 351 is great, but if you need a new rotating assembly you're spending most of the same money as a stroker kit and don't have to decide whether to cut the shock towers or live with extra tight confines.

Just bought a AOD trans for awfully cheap, its a B&M that was behind a 347 off-road truck, Guy broke the imputt shaft and now is going with the th400 for reliability.
He had a guy rebuilt it again.

Yes 2 inch but gonna see how they look when I lower the car on all 4 wheels. I might just need 1" or 1.5" inches.

That's exactly the thing. How much are you willing to cut up the car to accommodate this or that thing that sounds nice? I don't think there's something intrinsically wrong with cutting up a car unless it's something really special whose value is destroyed by cutting it up. Something like an original Cobra or Boss 429 Mustang, for example.

Otherwise, it becomes a question of cost and how many modifications will help your enjoyment of the car and how long you want to delay enjoyment of the car...because every modification takes money and time.

"Cutting up" a Maverick is fine if it's done right. I wish I had cut back my spring towers before installing my new engine years ago. If I ever do another swap, I'll definitely be cutting them...

Something doesn't look right to me. I realize your car is on jack stands however a floor jack is under the center section and appears to be supporting some weight. The spring arch appears to be huge requiring lowering blocks and the CalTracs balls appear to be touching the spring. Not good in my opinion.

On my Comet the springs and CalTracs bars are parallel with each other and parallel to the ground. What springs are on that car?

    Just my observation.

The jack stands are supporting the body, close to the perches thats why the bars are not parallel.

If any of you in thinking about buying the Scott drake oil pan "Boss 302 front sump" You need to tack weld the tray, is poorly welded to the pan, very nice product but looks like summit hasn't done anything to cure the problem. Im posting a couple of pictures before and after tack welding it.
