as some know Effie got her a new Ford Ranger, same color as mine but a 4 dr.
I took it to my sticker Guy and had it striped and all the accessories as mine.
Hers' came with black rims that she liked so I ordered a set of black stock Ford tires and rims to match hers'.
I have spent the last three days cleaning them up.
they are gloss black powdercoated with a lot of hazing, nothing scratched.
called my powder coating Guy and was told you can't buff and polish powdercoated rims...
Googled "cleaning tires" and was told in bold letters "DO NOT USE WD 40 ") on tires...
    wrong answers...
So I got out my closeup Gel toothpaste , WD 40 ( no water) and went to work...:yup:
Still need to wash them in hot soapy water and put on some tire dressing before mounting. two done and two to go.
I also use the toothpaste on all my plastic lens.
I put this here because of the detailing of the tires and rims .

as most know I can't leave well enough alone.
after getting them polished out I noticed the surface wasn't flat. It was glossy and shinny but not as reflective as it could be.
so I got some 1000,2000, 3000 and 5000 grit sandpaper and went to work. I blocked out all the flat surfaces (by hand) with each grit paper and then polished out the 5000 grit haze.
I have 3 done and one to go.
while doing this I realized how many rub marks were there from the mounting process
My biggest problem is I try to do the last one better than the one before it. then when I get around to the first one I did, it's not as good as the last one...:slap:
this is where I started sanding from...
