If you can, take off the bushings and measure the outer diameters of the inserted part, and the outer shoulder, and we can tell you if they are the correct size...
Does anyone know if the "Spicer" brand of rear shackles I find on www.rockauto.com are any good or should I pay extra and wait longer for the ACDelco?
I don't know if it's just me, but the first picture... the one where the problem is... looks like the bushing is just sitting in a square hole that is much bigger than the bushing. If that's the case there is definitely a frame issue.
I guess I would need to pull those off and see whats going on exactly... maybe get some washers/rings which might fit in there...
well... no, although it doesn't sqeak like it used to but they still don't look right. life's been to busy for me to do anything with it right now. 2 Jobs, got married, moved, not enough room in the garage to do much, and I can't take the chance of taking it appart and not getting by together when I have to goto work, and I'm currently rebuilding / turning my bike into a chopper... once I get that done than I can focus back on my car. I like to have atleast one vehicle in going before I do much with the other.
BTW, here's what your frame should look like. As previously mentioned, there is a steel tube extending from the rail, then stepped rubber bushings, then the shackle sides... Russ
