With slicks and a little looser converter your car should run high 7's in the 1/8 and low 12's in the 1/4. What is in your friends mustang engine wise

you should have more power than him. defintly need a looser converter. probly between a 3000-3500 rpm. gota be able to stick that power to the ground. some drag radials would work really well if you playing on the street (very unsafe but most of us are guilty of being unsafe). if your only racing on the track then get a set of slicks on there own wheels to put on at the track.

Yes, M/T ET Street Radials 275 60R15. Awesome tire and do well on the street too. Mine hook good enough to break my rear end twice at the track.

Remember, weight is a factor too. Aluminum radiator, rear seat delete, etc. Also moving weight around like the battery to the trunk. Rule of thumb is every 100 pounds is a .10 second in the 1/4 mile.:)

My set up is not a lot different and I am in the high 11's. I agree, a looser converter and traction and you are in the 12's.

ok you guys mentioned spool, my question is on the mini spools, I was told they are unsafe on the street because they force the car to go straight. Is this what you found? How do they really work?

the lock the two axle shafts togther. this prevents the rear tires from turing different speeds wich is nessary for smooth cornering. the tires will squeal and chirp when you turn. it adds extra fatigue to the axles and can cause them to brake after awhile. if your front tires are small or are in a low traction situation the car wont turn. it will just push streight ahead.

Do you have a break down of your time slip?
Been to the dyno lately to double check tune?

Really you should be faster I would think, even with a peg leg. Probably all in your 60ft with the converter/tires/peg leg/ suspension where your loosing him. You should be realing him in on the big end though.
