This my son's 23 T roadster, finished last week. My spare 347 and borrowed Jr. heads from brother Todd(Mavman) spare engine for his Maverick drag car. First time out last Sunday. Number two son never drove one of these before. After some tinkering and tuning, he blasts down the 1/8th mile at 5.90 @ 115. Needs more seat time to get the tree down, red light syndrome all day.
He said it was a blast! I think going that fast talked him out of building a monster BBF for it.... instead just a mild big block will suit him good. Glad to see some times on the car, I hadn't talked to him since sunday
I have always thought it would fun to put an "open face" car together and that one looks like a lot of fun! Nothing like wind in your face!
Old Guy, There is a guy in my area that is building these, NHRA Chassis cert'd complete with sheetmetal body and rolling chassis for $10k less engine or trans. I have been looking at this for my flatmotor............would be a Hoot!
That car was certified and could be easily again w/ adding just a few things. I can't believe how light it is. Without the engine/transmission in it you you could pick it up with one hand and roll it around on the rear tires. I've always enjoyed these cars and it's amazing really how simple they are
that looks like an awesome ride i am planning on doing a roadster in the near future with a nice small block.
