St.Thomas built & Dearborn built cars were the only ones to have them. Personally, I've never seen a Dearborn tag, but we've talked about these in the past, and someone insisted they had one on their Dearborn built car, and it would make sense, since Mustangs had them, and they were built on the same line.
I have a few blank ones...now we just need to figure out how to punch the numbers and letters in reverse.
The Reverse Steel Hand Stamps ARE available. They even sell the ones with the funny "Inspection Symbols". Here is an Industrial Company that specializes in Assembly Line Style Inspection Stamps: (The Reverse Style is at the bottom of the page) http://www.durablemecco.com/marking/hand-stamps/ Reverse Style: Standard Style:
Hey Eric, here are two 73' Dearborn Mustangs that have that "CHR" code on their Buck Tags also. The code RM precedes the CHR on the Mustang ones. Seems to be a tough one to crack: http://www.allfordmustangs.com/foru...mustang-mach-1-data-decoding-please-help.html http://forums.vintage-mustang.com/vintage-mustang-forum/455465-help-me-decode-buck-tag.html
When I go for coffee tomorrow at the Mustang shop, I'll have a look at the tag book by Kevin Marti. If I get the energy today, I need to move all my Maverick paper work out of my office, so I'll dig out my notes. I use to advertise in Shorthorns, over the years I had quite a few people send me tags, and info.
I was over at the shop this morning, and copied down all the 71-73 codes in the Marti book. If I get some time this afternoon, I'll sit down and figure them out.
