First....you need to make sure you have your vacuum lines hooked up correctly, like you have been asking in the other thread. We need to fix your first problem before we move on to the next one....they are probably related.

Is the carb a DIY rebuild? Sounds like ur accelrator pump may not be workin properly. Was the car running ok b4 the header install?

Yes I rebuilt the carb had it running good with the stock exhaust. It had a leak so i removed it breaking off some manifold bolts. car sat without the head on it for a little bit until i could them machined out. So carb could need another cleaning. It might also need another gasket between the intake and it as well. Going to pick that up later today. So that might be the cause.

9 times out of 10 its the carburetor and vacuum lines.

Make sure the body screws on the carburetor havent loosened up since the rebuild and make sure the carb base is truly flat to the head so excess air isnt being pulled through.

Check the choke plate like also suggested.

I wud'nt think the carb wud not need another rebuild seeing as tho u just installed a new kit. Im still thinkin accel pump. If u look in the mouth of the carb and pull the carb linkage wide open u shud see a gud strong stream of gas go in the engine. If u don't; my guess is thats ur problem or at least a big part of it.

ok well either way I am replacing the carb with one that most likely came with the engine. The metal line that went to the choke on this carb isnt on it since that part of the carb body where the threads are broke off. Ill be posting a new thread on the new cabr and getting it hooked up. thanks.
