I am finally replacing the drums on my 70 Maverick with some Aerospace Components front disc brakes. If anyone would like me to document this swap I will, and on second thought I will take pictures anyway during the install. The question is that the spindles I am taking off the car have smaller wheel bearings than come with the kit. I got some spindles from Razorsharp and believe they are 72 spindles and these spindles fit the bearings supplied by Aerospace Components..................I am just confused that Maverick spindles would have two different size spindles/wheel bearings.
i know that 65 mustang uses a smaller spindle. i used a willwood kit for that. the outer diameter for the hub is the same. if you get berings for a 65 mustang, they should work for you.
The 70 Mavericks can be somewhat unique with brakes and suspension pieces. Some came with a 9 inch drum which could be your case resulting in the smaller sponsors. Both of our 70s have been converted so I don't have anything to reference anymore.
Thanks guys, just wondered why the difference, now am fighting with trying to get lower control arms since the original ball joints look like they been through WWIII. It just seems the Maverick is fighting me at every turn..........this is almost as bad as building a street rod from the ground up!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Has anyone use the Global West lower control arm or adjustable strut rod?
