so..this is my dad's car and the paint wasn't that great at all but he loved the color...but we don't know what color it may be..now it's in primer he wants to get the same color or as extremely close as possible. any idea's? it had some pearl in it as well if that helps..
without a paint chip to scan, it will be hard to match. if it has any age on it, the original color will be darker...
Lemans looks close...but ya i dont have a chip...the guy who we got it from said it was iroc blue...sure doesn't look like iroc blue too me, as it's a ton darker....not sure if hes sprayed the underside of the trunk yet though...ill have to go out and have a peeek.
Does the Chevelle still have an ID plate pop riveted to the drivers side firewall? If it does and the car is the factory color then the original paint code will be stamped on that tag. The paint code should be in the twenties. Code 26 comes to mind. If the tag is there could you take a picture of it and post it?
Didn't know that tag was there.. It has one part that has 26 26 stamped on it, I'll post a pic later of it If my computer feels like starting.
If after the number 26 there are the letters PNT then 26 is the factory paint code. PNT is the abbreviation for PAINT on GM trim tags. The factory color is called Mulsanne Blue. The best way to tell if that is the correct color on the car is to take the paint code to an automotive parts dealer that sells paint and look in their paint chip books. If the number of the chip matches the color of the car then you will know for sure as long as it is the original paint on the car.
Perdy color.. Think that's it.. Of not it'll be that because it's nice & that's what the code says, 26 PNT,thanks everyone appreciate it.
