ok so i need some advice.

I've tried using the pitman puller and it's not working.

I think it's the tie rod that connects the pitman arm to the steering box

    Shows as part 3304

take the nut off, flip it upside down, place a block on it, and hit with the hammer. Make sure the bolt is flat to the nut. So put a few threads into it. Knock it with a hammer until pops. Also may need to jack the tire up to releave some pressure/binding due to the weight.

are you talking about pulling the drag link off the arm?.. or the arm off the box?.. or both?

either way.. heat on the arm ends itself(within reason) usually always makes matters easier.

Pickle fork also works for removing inner and outer tie rod ends ( all tapered ) - pitman arm puller is only for removing the pitman arm from the steering box sector shaft :tiphat:

Thanks got a different tie rod puller and it did the job.

Now I can start looking at putting it back together. And then more stupid questions to follow

like why do i have bag of bolts and rubber bushing left lol

10 years ago, I changed the head on my son's Eclipse.. He asked me why we had bolts left over and I told him "you know you did the job right when there are parts left over" - he was puzzled to say the least
