Was going to meet Don O today to drop off some parts and popped the bead on one of my new tires. It went flat as I reached the meeting place. He was kind enough to loan me his jack and lug wrench and he gave me a hand getting air back into it. I managed to get 10 miles to a walmart for a replacement. The tire went down again asI exited off the highway. I drove on the rim 2 miles but made it. Thanks for your help Don! :Handshake

How does that happen? Are the tires too narrow for the wheels?

I don't know what happened. I think I ran over something the wedged itself into the edge of the rim. Had the wheels for about 15 years and put the same size tire on em. Just one of those things I reckon.

From the picture on Facebook, it looks like a sidewall failure...what is the date on the tires?

I will have to check the date Dave. The side wall got tore up from driving on it flat. I wish I took a pic of the big bubble that was buldged out on the edge of the rim. I really think it was a defect in the tire. No sign of anything hitting the tire anywhere. I am at the tire shop now, I bought the road hazzard warranty. They said I can use it to replace the bad tire, even though I don't have the tire. So all in all, not bad.

A bubble would usually be a broke steel belt in tire.

I agree, that is what happened in my opinion.
